Why open portuguese bank account?

There are two good reasons for you to open a Portuguese bank account:
  • You can withdraw money for free in ANY ATM (most international cards have fees).
  • You can charge your phone for free, if you do it in a Payshop you’ll be charged 0,30 euros.

How to proceed: 
To open an account go to the BPI branch in Praça Carlos Alberto open from 9.00 to 15.00
(this branch is the only one qualified to open the special erasmus account).
 You must show the following documents:
  • ID document with signature (to validate your signature)
  • Home country address proof (normally passports or driving licenses show your home address) or Portuguese
  • NO NEED FOR PORTUGUESE TAXPAYER CARD
